They also advise students on how to access funds to help them with their study and travel expenses. The Learner Support Fund provides financial help for eligible students to pay for fees, books, childcare, transport and equipment. Our dedicated education team are available throughout the day to provide students with advice, guidance and information. This includes help with accessing funds to help pay for study, child care and travel expenses.

Advice and guidance

As a student you can rest assured that you will receive the support you need at every stage. Experienced education staff who speak at least one community language are on hand to help students to:

  • Choose the right course and identify academic and vocational
  • Progression routes
  • Obtain help with their studies
  • Receive careers information and advice

Counseling

There is a confidential referral advice service for those needing crisis or short term counseling.
Careers guidance interviews are available with a City College Careers Advisor. Members of our education team are also able to provide careers advice.

Financial help

here is funding available to help students with:

  • Childcare
  • Travel expenses
  • Exam fees & registration fees
  • Books & equipment
  • Financial hardship
