Amanah Day Nursery

The Amanah Day Nursery is a 48-place nursery that provides a high quality full-day care for children aged 2 –5 years. We are open throughout the year.

The nursery is now part of the Muath Trust Children’s Centre providing an integrated Early Education.


Our Mission:

To provide a high quality childcare provision that will enable more women to take up education and training opportunities and return to work.

Our aims and objectives for the children:

- To develop their positive self-image & self-esteem.

- To develop their self-confidence.

- To develop their independence.

- To build their understanding of what is right and what is wrong and why.

- To be healthy and strong.

- To be a skilful communicator.

- To be a competent learner.

- Your child will be cared for in a nurturing, caring & clean environment.

- Moral & Spiritual education guided by an Islamic Ethos.

- Planning and delivery of the curriculum will be led by a qualified teacher.

Registration with OFSTED:

The nursery is registered with OFSTED and received a ‘GOOD’ OFSTED Inspection report in 2006.

NORMAL OPENING TIME:

Full day: 8:00am - 6:00pm

Half day (am): 8:00am - 1:00pm

Half day (pm): 1:00pm - 6:00pm

Free nursery education opening time:

Morning Session: 9:30am - 12:00pm

Afternoon Session: 1:00pm - 3:30pm

Fees:

Enrolment fee: £30.00

Nursery Fund (per term) £27.50

HALF-DAY £13.00

FULL-DAY £26.00

Admission Policy:

Parents must first read the detail information that is in the Nursery Information Pack, which can be obtained from the nursery. Parents must also visit the nursery. When you have read and understood the information provided, parents can then make an appointment to see the manager to register their child. Parents must also sign an Agreement with the nursery.

- We admit children from all sections of the community.

- We give priority to children of students who are doing courses at the Bordesley Centre.

- We admit children regardless of their religion, culture, race, colour, national origin, language, status, disability and gender.

- We operate a waiting list for the following age groups:

3 year old

4 year old

- We do not have a waiting list for the 2 year old. Places will be given on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.

-We only admit three year old (3) who have been toilet trained.

- 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to a part-time free nursery education grant. This will be 5 sessions per week. They can attend either the morning or afternoon sessions. Places awarded will be according to the child’s birth-date.

- Parents will be informed in writing if their child is being offered a place.

Registration:

Only parents who have signed the Agreement and have visited the nursery can register their child.

Enrolment:

When you have accepted an offer of a place in the nursery, we will ask you to come in and enrol your child. Your child will not be able to start attending the nursery until all the required information and fees are settled during enrolment. Detail information regarding enrolment will be in the letter of offer.

Our Curriculum:

- We provide Islamic Education appropriate to the age of the children.

- We follow the Birth to Three Matters and The Foundation Stage.

Children learn through Play:

We make learning FUN for the children with lots of interesting activities e.g. cooking, gardening, water play, sand play, visits to farm.

Students and Childcare:

The nursery will give priority of places to children of students studying at the Bordesley Centre The allocation of places will be based on the following conditions:

The student must be:

Doing courses run by City College, at the Muath Trust.
On a full-time or part-time course (priority for for full-time students).
Able to provide evidence of enrolment on a course.
Able to provide evidence of funding for their child (through LSF etc or paying privately).
Able to provide the time-table of the course that they will be doing.
We do not operate a waiting for 2 year olds.
Places will be given on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis together with the evidence stated above.
Students who met the above conditions will be given a )conditional offer) of place for their child.
Students must:

- Complete the nursery ‘Childcare Registration Form’.

- Complete the City College ‘ Indirect Childcare Provision’ form.

These will be the evidence that the nursery agrees to care for your child while you are studying.
