Amanah Day Nursery

The Amanah Day Nursery and Children's center works with children and families that will sometimes bring us in to contact with confidential information. As a nursery/center we respect and value everyone’s right to privacy.

Everyone in the nursery/center is expected to work within the guidelines of this policy. A position of trust, care and due consideration is taken over decisions to break confidentiality.

• Parents will have access to the files and records of their children but will not be allowed access information about any other child.

• Staff will not discuss individual children, other than for the purpose of the EYFS planning/group management and with outside agency professionals that have been brought in to help a child. And the staff can discuss the child’s development with their parents.

• Information given by parents/carers to the nursery manager or key worker will not be passed onto any other professional without their consent to do so.

• Any anxieties/evidence relating to a child’s personal safety will be kept in a confidential file and will not be shared with in the group. But will be shared with any other professional under our safeguarding/child protection policies.

• Issues to do with employment of staff and staff details, whether paid or unpaid, will remain confidential to the people directly involved with making personnel decisions.

• Students attending the nursery training with recogansnised courses observing in the nursery will be advised about our confidentiality policy in their induction as well as volunteers and visitors.
